THE ACCOMPLISHED ADVANTAGE

Purpose

Discovering my platform will lead you to understanding ME, a WOMAN open and desires to go beyond, in receiving more than traditional mentoring. True jegnaship. A desire to become accomplished through spoken words to publishing to research to peer reviews to handing out sandwiches for those in need in distressed jeans a T & preloved converse. A heart that is on a journey searching for a holistic approach for Her person  academic expansion generational provisioning  supporting environments quietly for a journey that expounds excellence at every fiber of its existence. With my identity in tact, guided by my purpose, to be a steward for my communities, and driven by the calling on my life.

IDENTITY

Allow me a moment to briefly explain and highlight in this essay, I will be arguing that my identity is still being curated, it is not lost, and I have it in view, that is my business!

This insight has been the most triggering for me to scribe. I did not know if I were to be transparent, as Morgan tracks all our writings into its own ePortfolio, per say. Or be generic, plastic, and script an entire essay filled with fallacies?

I chose the former, so here goes nothing, in hopes it will be read, and assessed in a safe space of an educational piece.

I have struggled with my identity from childhood. I did not have the typical upbringing with a mother and a father. My family was a military family and when my twin sister transitioned at age 3 from the complications of sickle cell anemia, all hell broke loose with the blame games.

COMMUNITY / CALLING

In the module where we build our ePortfolio, I feel the urge to give up and admit defeat. Then I received an invitation to join a GroupMe for our class, here we are safe, I felt seen, heard, and unashamed of my lack of knowledge. There was considerable amount of concern, laughter and common confusion yet most of all at best, help for all the asks.

How this was demonstrated, was not only in the orchestration yet the commentaries, in example of “…if I hear the words insight or reflection it will never be too soon…” or “…I will jump off a curb in front of a parked park, if she says ‘dig deeper’…” or  “ …how many experiences can one recall…”, all anonymously of course.

The insight gained from this, that it is ok to have a community, again, talk to people.

The significance of communities is that in previous years in clashing positions in careers, I felt like my childhood, to only be seen and not heard.

Ministry/Calling

“Get somebody else to do it,” I exclaimed. Then I heard The Whisper respond, “I did. It’s you.” That moment reshaped my understanding of what it means to accept a calling rather than to assume a ministry. As I reflected in Insight #4, “Calling versus Ministry: My Acceptance of Who and What I Am to Be and Become – My Why!”, I realized that purpose is not an assignment but an unfolding identity. This insight invited me to distinguish between external expectations and internal conviction. Through this acknowledgment, I began to embrace the truth that my calling does not seek validation—it seeks embodiment. In recognizing this, I move closer to becoming who I am meant to be while honoring the process that shapes me.
